You want the person who looks at your photograph to feel an emotion when they look at it.  Like Tanveer Badal most amateur photographers take pictures of anything in sight. The good photos are the ones that have the emotion behind them. Also when the photo has a meaning behind it the person viewing that photo will likely remember it better. Another thing that a good photo has is a story behind it. A good photo draws the attention of the audience. Obviously the lighting and focus matters too but you want your photo to have an emotional purpose. That is what I have learned from reading this article.
